FLOWSCAPE (Score & Parts) [PDF]

$38.00

FLOWSCAPE explores the different types of “flows” a player may have that vary based on the note values. These different “flows” intertwine between players that can create both simple and more complex polyphony.

FLOWSCAPE may be performed with 8 - 11 players. The marimbas (2 players each + bass marimba), vibraphones, and tuned pipes/bells are set, which will give you the minimum of 8 players. Therefore, the piano, cajon, and egg shaker may be left out if desired, and you may add in any of the 3 as you please. For example, you may only want to add the piano, or you may want to add only the cajon and shaker. The choice is yours.

Feel free to set the instruments up so it fits your ensemble needs. I would suggest that you choose a setup that displays the melodic material of the metal instruments (pipes/bells, vibraphones), however you must ensure that the marimbas are clear in the mix as they are the foundation of the piece title. If you add the cajon and shaker, it is imperative that they sit in the back of the mix so that the keyboards retain clarity.

Enjoy!
